LOOKING TO THE FUTURE

After more than 70 years, the BFOA is expanding its mission to include educational and professional development for future broadcasters through networking events, internships, and now the BFOA Scholarship Program.

Through this need-based scholarship, students of broadcast families who are studying media & communications can receive financial assistance to continue their collegiate journey. 

APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY

Applicants for the the BFOA Scholarship Program must meet the following criteria:

  • Have an immediate family member in broadcasting
  • Be currently enrolled at a college/university in the US
  • Be studying broadcast communications or related field
  • Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

The BFOA Scholarship is a one-time award of $10,000.

Applications will be reviewed by an independent panel and scholarship funds sent to the college/university bursar’s office on behalf of the recipient.

Submissions Open: Spring 2027

The 2026 application window has closed. The 2027 Scholarship Application window will open in the Spring of 2027.
